Wanna earn the title of “best gift giver” this Christmas 2012? Well, listen up because I’m about to tell you how.

Technology has changed a lot over the past twenty years, but certain things remain the same. One of those cross-generational constants is that kids want to feel like grown-ups. And this year, what better way to fulfill that desire than giving the little one in your life their very own tablet PC! (Don’t worry, I’m not suggesting you buy another iPad Mini.)

Give your child a head start with a fun, educational kids tablet. Touch screen toys have been called “iPads for children” or “ipod touch toys” because they are so similar in their function. Children can now emulate their parents with kids tablets. Touch toys offer children an introduction into the world of electronics and prepare them for the technology they will use when they are older. An early introduction to touch screen technology will give children familiarity, and comfort for future use of this technology.

Children’s tablets are both interactive and educational. Learning tablets foster creativity, stimulate the imagination and advance learning. Kid-centric tablets encourage reading, develop comprehension and expand your child’s vocabulary. Kids tablets and e-readers interactive learning systems are based on positive reinforcement, with rewards for learning and the ability to track progress and success. This instills confidence, reward-motivated learning and an overall sense of accomplishment. Kid’s tablets are rugged and lightweight – perfect for children’s fragile wrists

Many new, child-centric e-readers, tablet PCs and video games are hitting store shelves and online marketplaces – several of which are fighting to become the “It” item this holiday season.

Give your child the gift of a learning tablet for kids. A kids tablet is sure to elicit exuberant thank-yous on Christmas morning!

The Intel Studybook kids tablet is the perfect companion for hands-on, interactive learning both inside and outside of the classroom. Because of its durability, reasonable pricing, and fantastic educational software, the Studybook slate is sure to become a vital educational tool for children.

Intel Studybook Tablet for Kids - Source: Intel.com

While many other similar tablet computers claim to make great educational tools, the 7-inch Studybook was specifically built for young students in a learning environment. This tough kids tablet can withstand drops of at least 27 inches and is splash proof, perfect for the classroom. And at $200 a piece, the Studybook is accessible even for tight school budgets.

Still, it is the remarkable educational software available for the Studybook that makes this tablet/slate stand out from the rest. It comes equipped with standard applications like a textbook e-reader and note taking tools, but unique educational applications like the Kno app for textbooks will excite students and teachers alike. Using this application, students will be able to explore interactive textbooks that include glossary definitions of important terms, 3D models, and even imbedded videos for further explanation. The Studybook also comes with advanced software designed specifically for teacher-student interaction such as the special classroom management program that allows teachers to track students’ behavior and progress.

Teachers will find that the Studybook education tablet is an excellent companion for their science curriculum. The tablet’s two digital cameras will encourage students to snap photos of the natural world around them, and the simple addition of an adapter lens to the rear camera creates a digital microscope, perfect for scientific forays into the playground or backyard. With other scientific tools such as the USB temperature probe, the student tablet can act as a miniature, portable laboratory for hands-on scientific discovery.

From its ruggedized design to its reasonable price and quality educational software, parents, teachers, and students alike will delight in the Studybook tablet, the perfect classroom companion for curious young students.

PlayBase+: Anti-bacterial Tablet for Kids

Copyright © 2010-2012 KidsTablet.com. All rights reserved.

The recent developments in mobile technology have led to a burst of innovative tablets that boast unique features. Finally, one of these tablets has been specially designed for children. The PlayBase+ Tablet from Karuma is a kid friendly, anti-bacterial tablet that allows little ones to enjoy the educational and entertainment benefits of a tablet in a safe and germ free format. Children love watching movies, playing games or taking pictures on a slate, but traditional devices become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria as kids tote the tablet with them throughout their day. The PlayBase+ is truly a tablet for kids as the screen is protected with the Silver Seal, an innovative application of Silver Ion technology that is proven to prevent the growth of bacteria up to 99.99% more than other kids tablets.

In addition to the protection of the Silver Seal, this child’s tablet also features the PlayCover. Created from medical grade plastics, the PlayCover is a shock absorbent silicone cover that allows kids to take their tablet anywhere. Parents can have peace of mind knowing that this carefully designed cover will protect the tablet from the day to day wear and tear that might otherwise damage the tablet. The medical grade material that the cover is created from is also less susceptible to bacteria growth than other covers.

Under the protection of the Silver Seal and PlayCover, the PlayBase+ has all the features that make up a stellar tablet. WiFi, a camera, a clear seven inch display and a five hour battery life are only a few of the things that make it ideal for kids of all ages. Programs such as Net Nanny that contain internet and time controls are already preloaded into the device so parents can ensure that their kids can play safely.

Tablets are everywhere today. In fact, young children are spending more time on their parents’ tablets/slates than mom and dad are. Children love to watch videos and play games. Yet, what happens when mom and dad need the device themselves? Archos has just announced a new kids tablet that will make things a little bit easier. Appealing to the younger generation, the child pad is a kid-friendly tablet that will provide children with their very own tablet experience. The device contains a 7-in screen and operates on the latest Android operating system, 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich”. It runs on a 1GHz processor and has 1GB of RAM.

Archos Child Pad Source: Archos.com

This tablet for kids contains colorful icons, access to a Kids App Store, and the top 28 applications come preloaded on the device, one of these being the popular Angry Birds game. The Kids App Store contains 10,000 applications and 14 different categories, including learning, puzzles, music, and video. There is also a way to put applications straight to a folder on the screen that will launch the application easily. The Archos Child Pad also has security features that will make mom and dad happy, too. Parental controls and safe web browsing have been integrated into this slate device, and it is compatible with CIPA and COPPA regulations for a safe environment for children. Children can be free to learn and explore in a safe manner, while the parents can feel confident that their children will only see what they want them to see. Coming to stores at the end of March, the Child Pad will be priced at $129. At a price like that, not only will the kids be smiling, but the parents are sure to smile as well.

Kurio Android Tablet

Built for kids, more than just a toy.

Copyright © 2010-2012 KidsTablet.com. All rights reserved.

Techno Source has unveiled another kid-friendly tablet, named the Kurio. The Kurio is a tablet for kids with enough power to please mom and dad, too. Available in 7-inch, 8-inch, and 9-inch varieties, the tablet runs Android 4.0 and features software that allows parents to filter the content their children have access to. The Kurio junior tablet comes with a (removable) rubberised sleeve for added protection.

Kurio Android Tablet for Kids

Give your little ones a head start on technology to help them developmentally and to have a blast playing games. They’ll love being able to play the many games and edutainment titles available on the Android Market. Puzzles, memory games, and classic video game console emulators are just a few of the apps your kids will be able to play on this kiddie-slate.

The Kurio tablet for kids, toddlers and teens, will empower your child. The kids games available on an Android tablet include some very fun high quality offerings that will help your children develop cognitive and motor skills. E-book reading software is another way in which this tablet can be fun and educational. Check out e-books from your local library for the kids to read on their very own kids Pad.

The ability to blacklist content is important when allowing kids access to the internet. The Kurio Android Slate is no slouch there, allowing parents to control what their kids see and hear online through an extensive set of controls. You can easily set up multiple user profiles for the children and adults in the house with different content limitations for each.

Not just a tablet for toddlers, the Kurio is still a great tool for grownups too. The colorful cover of this kids tablet is removable so you can use it too. The new Kurio tablet, made by Inspiration Works, comes in three sizes: 7-inch; 8-inch and 10-inch. The platform runs Android Ice Cream Sandwhich (4.0) and comes with 4GB of storage as well as an SD card slot that gives you the ability to expand it up to 32GB.

With enough power to stream HD movies over its HDMI output and a dual-camera setup, the Kurio should satisfy a whole family of Android needs.

The tablet PC is a hot Christmas gift and is crossing demographic lines. Tablets/Slates are attractive to practically each and every age group and gender – kids want Christmas tablets toys too. Surprise your child during the holidays with an educational kids tablet!

The 7-inch tablet is set to retail for $199 and will be on sale in September – just in time for Christmas 2012!

Today, the apple of kids’ eyes is often their parents’ smartphones and tablets. Thanks to Lexibook, children can have their own tablet device! The kids tablet is now designed for toddlers, teens and even tweens!

Lexibook has released several tablets aimed at the younger audience. These kids-centric computers have unique features that make them both fun and educational. Slates for kids are a big hit on birthdays and during the Christmas holidays!

Lexibook Kids Pad - Source: Lexibook.com

All of these exciting tablets all run on Android OS and are targeting different age groups. The Lexibook tablet line features slates for kids as young as 3 on up to teenagers. Regardless of what age group you are buying a tablet for, none of the Lexibook tablets are locked into proprietary content. This means you can install any applications you want on these as long as the tablet meets the minimum requirements for running that application.

Junior’s Tablet

The Junior’s Tablet is for children aged 3 – 6. It comes in a brightly colored, very durable, hard plastic case that includes a built in screen cover so the chances of damaging this toddler tablet when it gets dropped is minimal. It comes preloaded with plenty of educational content and the parental controls are easy to use.
Lexibook will also sell some nice accessories to go along with these tablets including a cradle, keyboard, and stylus.

Lexibook Tablet

The Lexibook tablet for kids 5 – 8 is a bit larger with a 7-inch touchscreen. The corners are not as rounded as the Junior and the colors are a bit more sedate. It comes preloaded with plenty of learning applications and e-books. The casing is still built with a sturdy plastic that can take more knocks than most similar kid’s pads.

Touchman 8

Finally, the Lexibook tablet for teens and older kids is called the Touchman 8. It looks a lot more like the slates marketed to adults. It has a 10.1-inch touchscreen and is much slimmer in design. It comes preloaded with plenty of learning applications, an office suite, Pandora and Netflix.

The Lap Tab, is an Android 2.3 convertible tablet with a keyboard attached. This kids tablet is meant for both work and play!

Lexibook will have some great accessories to go along with these kids tablets including a cradle, keyboard, and stylus.

The smaller tablets will likely retail for around the same price as the Kindle Fire or less and the larger ones will be much less expensive than the iPad.

One Laptop Per Child might need to change its name, now that the organization is launching a $100 tablet. The nonprofit group will be introducing an 8-inch tablet that sells for less than $100.

The One Laptop Per Child Foundation (OLPC) makes low-cost portable computing devices primarily for school kids in developing countries.

The XO 3.0 tablet is the first tablet to be powered by solar cells. The XO tablet has special power circuitry that can be charged using an optional cover’s solar panel or using a hand crank that can provide 60 minutes of operation for every six minutes of cranking. This tablet for children in developing countries has multiple charging options – making the XO kids tablet a practical, low-priced educational tool.

The green ruggedized 8-inch solar tablet, is designed to give kids in the developing world access to modern education.

The child’s tablet will come in two display versions: a standard 8-inch 1024 x 768 LCD and an 8-inch PixelQi 1024×768 resolution sunlight-readable display. Connectivity ports include USB, mini USB, and audio in/out.

OLPC, has been developing the kids tablet over the last few years as a low-cost alternative to standard notebooks. The XO tablet, will provide network information to those in developing countries using just a fraction of the power that notebooks do.

Ideally, OLPC will sell these educational tablets in bulk to countries.

Why Buy a Tablet/Slate for Christmas 2012

Copyright © 2010-2012 KidsTablet.com. All rights reserved.
You want to find the perfect gift for that always-on-the-go person on your Christmas list–or maybe that extra busy person is you. A slate or tablet PC could be the perfect solution. Small, light, and filled to the brim with useful and fun applications, a slate or tablet gives you mobility and function in one package. Holiday tablets are a great gift idea – you can even find a tablet for kids.

Portability

Weighing as little as one pound, a tablet PC is far lighter than a laptop or even a netbook. Many tablets and slates are small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. For a person with a busy schedule, the size and weight of a tablet makes it practical to carry in almost any situation.

Access to the Internet

The ability to access email, a Twitter account, or Facebook while on the move is one perk of owning a tablet or slate. With Wi-Fi becoming more common everywhere, tablets also give the ability to do research online, check stock quotes, or do price comparisons on the spot. Whether you’re curled up on the couch or sipping a latte at the local coffee shop, tablets let you get online almost anywhere.

Entertainment

Maybe the person on your Xmas list loves to read. Maybe she’s a dedicated online gamer, or it could be he loves watching the latest movies or TV episodes on his own schedule. Perhaps your favorite way to relax is to watch the latest video making the rounds on the Internet. Whatever you do for entertainment, a tablet PC or slate can help you enjoy yourself wherever you feel the most comfortable. Tablets make excellent e-readers while offering so much more: the ability to watch videos, go online to play games, or download fun apps of all kinds.

Productivity

Maybe Christmas isn’t the time when you most want to think about work, but it’s good to know that a tablet or slate can do more than just entertain you. Just attach a keyboard to write a report, or use the tablet’s programs to control presentations, stay in touch with your colleagues, and keep organized.

Tablets/slates are becoming more and more affordable, making them perfect for anyone looking for a portable, useful, and fun Xmas gift.
